Leave the heavy lifting to us, and take a load off! We provide packing/unpacking services for Ottawa moves (across the National Capital Region).
Costs for packing services are based on an hourly rate for labour plus materials. There is minimum charge of 3 hours for labour, a charge for travel time (to get the crew to and from the job), plus the cost of materials. The rate depends on the size of the crew required and is usually based on the same rates as the moving crews.
Unpacking services are billed separately and are generally calculated as a percentage of the packing cost. Unpacking includes removing packed items from boxes/wrapping material, placing them on the closest surface for inspection by the customer, and removal of the packing materials. Unpacking does not include putting items away. This would be considered a “put-away service” which is billed at an hourly rate.
We do not book packing, unpacking, or put-away services without completing an on-site visit in order to provide an estimate. We charge $75 for the site visit and apply that amount as a credit against the final bill for packing services.
As with our moving services, we typically book up quite a bit in advance so be sure to give us plenty of notice if you would like to arrange a site-visit.
