Save up to $500 on your move to Toronto

      We faciltate moves from the Greater Ottawa Area to the Greater Toronto Area. Customers can save money on their move costs by booking their move in conjuction with another move to Toronto or with a trip returning to Ottawa. Booking movers in this manner can save hundreds in moving costs. For very small moves, similar savings can be realized through the Ottawa-Toronto Express delivery service.

      Pricing for consolidated moves is based on an hourly rate for loading the contents onto the truck and then offloading at the destination plus a travel charge. The travel charge is billed at a flat rate and is based on a cost per kilometer one way from our office to the Ottawa location and then to the Toronto location. The cost per kilometer varies depending on the size of the crew, size of truck, and whether the move is taking place during a peak or non-peak period. It covers all costs associated with getting the crew, truck, and cargo from Ottawa to the destination address in Toronto. These costs include labour, fuel, kilometers, meal allowances, hotel room and any other necessary services. Charging for travel time in this manner allows customers to better predict the cost of the move as poor weather conditions, accidents, detours, and other delays will not affect the cost.

      For example: You hire a 2-man moving crew at $100/hour to move your apartment in a consolidated trip. Your move starts in Ottawa at 8:00 AM and the crew finishes loading by 10:30 AM. Your crew starts unloading at your new home in Toronto at 5:00 PM and finishes at 7:00 PM. The elapsed time for your move is 4.5 hours. You are billed a consolidated rate of $800 for 440 kilometers of travel.
Your bill totals to 4.5 hours x $100 = $450 (move) + $750 (travel) = $1250 + tax.

      In a dedicated move, the travel charge would have been around $1250 based on out standard charge of $2.85 per kilometer. By consolidating the move, you can save $500 off the travel charge. Some flexibilty may be neccessary with regards to date and time in order to take part in a consolidated trip. We usually have several trips scheduled to Toronto and the GTA each month with stops along the way.
