Local Long-Distance within Ontario

      We faciltate moves to or from the Greater Ottawa Area within 650 km from our Ottawa Office. We consider any move that starts or ends more then 100 kilometers from Ottawa's City Hall to be a long-distance move. Pricing for these moves is based on an hourly rate for loading the contents onto the truck and then offloading at the destination plus a charge for travel time. The travel charge is billed at a rate per kilometer one way and dependes on the size of the crew and truck. This charge covers the cost of getting the crew to the job, travel between locations, refuelling, and returning to the office at the end of the job. Charging for travel time in this manner allows customers to better predict the cost of the move as poor weather conditions, accidents, detours, and other delays will not affect the cost.

      For example: You hire a 2-man moving crew at $100/hour to move your home. Your move starts in Ottawa at 8:00 AM and the crew finishes loading by 11:00 AM. Your crew starts unloading at your new home in Toronto at 5:00 PM and finishes at 7:00 PM. The elapsed time for your move is 5 hours. You are billed for travel time at $2.85 km for 440 km.
Your bill totals to 5 hours x $100 = $500 (move) + $1254 (travel) + GST (5%) = $1841.70.

      For smaller moves, the above charges for travel time can be reduced by up to 40% when taking part in a consolidated move and sharing the travel costs with another customer. This also applies if we can manage to co-ordinate a move returning from your destination city.

Ottawa-Toronto Express Delivery Service

      For deliveries and really small moves, our Ottawa to Toronto delivery service includes a truck equipped with professional moving equipment (dollies, blankets, straps) and a driver that can guide and assist you with loading and unloading the truck. It is perfect for a "You Load, We Drive" type move and is the absolute cheapest option next to renting a truck and doing everything yourself.
