Job Information

We are currently seeking truck drivers, movers, and packers to represent us in the residential moving industry. Full-time, part-time, seasonal, and temporary positions are available.

Drivers will be required to participate in the labor aspects of relocations along with the rest of the crew. Job requirements can include heavy lifting, lots of walking, climbing stairs, and other challenges of endurance and strength. You should not apply of you have a history of back, neck, knee, shoulder, or elbow injuries or problems. These conditions can lead to dangerous situations resulting in injury to you and/or others. These jobs may require spending extended periods of time on your feet and are not recommended for people suffering from joint inflammation or blood pressure issues.

The nature of the industry prevents us from scheduling specific hours required to be worked. Although we try to separate our workload between weekday, weekend, and evening crews, work schedules can include long and/or irregular hours.

Successful candidates will be required to provide and wear steel-toe work boots/shoes and navy blue work pants/shorts. Company uniform will be provided including shirts, jackets and hats (optional). For safety and damage prevention reasons, employees are not allowed to wear any jewellery (except wedding/engagement rings) while working on jobsites.

Contractors

We are seeking contractors with cargo or cube vans to handle small deliveries on behalf of 1st Rate Movers. Contractors must meet and provide proof of the following criteria:

Registered as a company in Ontario for at least 1 year

Insured for at least $500,000 general liability

Vehicle insured for 3rd party liability

Insured for at least $10,000 cargo coverage

Bonded - Named Schedule Fidelity or Blanket Position

Vehicle in good condition and clean

Contracts starting from $45 per hour on an as needed basis.
