Bonded Movers
The importance of hiring bonded movers.
When employing movers to relocate your furniture, you are entrusting almost all of your
possesions to that company and it's employees. A moving service is potentially one of the
most important purchases a consumer will make in their lifetime. Rarely, if ever, will a
consumer put that much trust and faith in any other service company.
Most consumers are hestitant to allow service industry employees or contractors into
their homes when they are not around. When is the last time you told the phone or cable
company to just let themselves into your home because you couldn't be there..? This is
understanable as you would be allowing these strangers access to all of your belongings
without knowing whether they were trustworthy.
The moving and renovations industries are full of transient employees with unknown
backgrounds. Moving companies regulary hire day labourers and contractors, often without so
much as an interview. The companies hiring these people often don't even have basic
infomation such as their full name, address, or SIN number. These kind of labourers could
have criminal records for theft or violent crimes. Are these the types of people that you
want to hand over all your belongings to or be left in a house alone with?
When a moving company bonds its employees, it is essentially insuring against employee
theft and dishonesty. Due to this undertaking, such companies often insist on criminal
background checks and ensure that they have complete details of employee information. This
would, obviously, greatly reduce the likelihood of criminal acts by employees.
